Shop our range of off-the-shelf homeware and gifts. All of the pieces of furniture we create are customised to you and can’t be purchased directly from our website. However, in line with our zero waste principle, we make sure that we use all of our offcuts for other woodworking projects. Using these solid wood offcuts we craft a range of homeware and gifts that can be bought online via our partner stockist Made From Mountains. From personalised oak chopping boards that are the perfect wedding gifts to walnut detail coat hangers, we handmake everything in our Derbyshire workshop. Take a look.
Our Story
Hi, I’m Sam, founder of Sam Alton Woodwork, specialising in bespoke furniture designs.
Having studied Theoretical Physics at University and teaching for a number of years, I decided to dive into something new. I established Sam Alton Woodwork to combine practical skills and intelligent design with the skills I learnt at the Chippendale International School of Furniture.
I thoroughly enjoy my work, from product design (whether it be old-school sketched or CAD wizardry), through to the physical joinery processes and hope you do too.
The design process with Sam was very easy and he kept us up-to-date with progress. We were blown away by the quality and beauty of his work. The vanity and bedside tables he made for us, were so much more than we could have imagined and are pieces that we will cherish for our lifetime.
